Tribunal delayed to allow examination of FF papers

The work of the Mahon Tribunal has been delayed because documents sought from Fianna Fáil's Dublin Central constituency were only produced yesterday.

Judge Alan Mahon said he and his fellow judges had not had time to examine the material and he adjourned the evidence of three witnesses.

Tim Collins, Dominic Dillane and John J Murphy were to all due to take to the witness box today.

The three men, all close political associates of the Taoiseach, will now give evidence on March 11.

Lawyers for Fianna Fáil said they didn't want the impression to go out that their client was not

co-operating and they stressed that they had moved very quickly to get documentation for the tribunal.
