Farmers plan protest outside EU offices

Farmers are planning a protest outside the offices of the EU Commission in Dublin this lunchtime.

The demonstration is being arranged to protest against the stance being taken by EU Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson at World Trade Organisation negotiations.

The Irish Farmers Association claims Mr Mandelson's concessions to Brazil and other South American countries would wipe out the suckler cow herd in Ireland.
