Dublin City Council has reportedly approved plans for a 15-storey tower in the affluent Ballsbridge area of south Dublin.

Dublin City Council has reportedly approved plans for a 15-storey tower in the affluent Ballsbridge area of south Dublin.

Reports this morning say permission has been granted for the building as part of a €600m development on the site of the former UCD veterinary college.

The development will include luxury apartments, offices and shops.

However, it is likely to be appealed to An Bord Pleanála as many local residents and councillors are vehemently opposed to high-rise buildings in the area.
