The Government has announced the appointment of a Director of the Office for Internet Safety.

The Government has announced the appointment of a Director of the Office for Internet Safety.

John Laffan will take up the position at the beginning of March.

Announcing the appointment, Minister for Justice Brian Lenihan said the new role would help make the internet a safer place.

The Minister announced the appointment at a press conference to launch a new booklet for parents on internet safety and social networking sites.
