FG proposes overhaul of autistic education services

Fine Gael says it will be tabling a private-members' motion in the Dáil this week demanding a massive increase in state funding for children with autism.

The party is proposing a major overhaul of current education services, including new assessment procedures, language and behavioural therapies in all schools and one-on-one tuition for any child who needs it.

It says it does not want to see a repeat of the situation like that which saw the O'Cuanachain take High Court action in an effort to get the State to fund ABA therapy for their son.
