Lisbon Treaty: Alliance launches campaign for 'no' vote

An alliance of left-leaning groups has formally launched its campaign for a 'no' vote in the referendum on the Lisbon Treaty.

The alliance comprises members of the Green Party, Sinn Féin, the Peace and Neutrality Alliance and a number of socialist organisations.

Spokesman Roger Cole says the alliance is not anti European, but is concerned about the EU's current direction and wants to see a different approach taken.
