Gardaí arrest man after fatal Galway stabbing

A man has been stabbed to death in Co Galway.

The attack happened at a house on Dominick Street in Portumna between 2.30am and 3.20am this morning.

The 43-year-old victim was taken to Portiuncla Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A 45-year-old man was arrested and is being detained at Loughrea Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
