One in Four 'deeply disturbed' by Cardinal's legal move

A leading support group for child sex abuse victims said today that it is deeply disturbed by the former Archbishop of Dublin's legal bid to prevent a government inquiry from examining church documents.

A leading support group for child sex abuse victims said today that it is deeply disturbed by the former Archbishop of Dublin's legal bid to prevent a government inquiry from examining church documents.

Yesterday, lawyers for Cardinal Desmond Connell secured an interim High Court injunction restraining the child abuse inquiry in the Dublin Archdiocese from examining certain documents.

The One in Four support group says it is disturbed, but not shocked by the move.

It says Cardinal Connell promised in 2002 that the truth would be told, but he was now trying to prevent the inquiry from doing its work.
