Storm force winds and high waves have forced an end to another attempt to refloat the Portrush Lifeboat stranded on rocks off Rathlin Island in Co Antrim.

Another try is now unlikely before tomorrow, according to the Coastguard.

The €2.6m vessel has been stranded since Tuesday night after beaching on rocks during a rescue bid.
