Martin Foley remains in critical condition

The high-profile Dublin crime figure Martin 'The Viper' Foley remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital this morning.

The 55-year-old fitness fanatic miraculously survived another assassination attempt on Saturday afternoon, the fourth attempt on his life in the last 13 years.

He was shot at least six times in broad daylight as he was leaving a gym on the Lower Kimmage Road.

Reports this morning say garda sources are putting his chances of survival at 50-50, despite an earlier belief that Foley was likely to recover.
