Roadworks delays hit M50

Commuters in Dublin are being advised to avoid the M50 southbound this morning due to lengthy delays.

Traffic is reported to be at a crawl from Junction 3 as far as Junction 7.

The congestion is also affecting the inbound and outbound lanes of the M1.

The situation is being blamed on overnight roadworks which ran over schedule this morning.
