360 jobs in balance at Arklow pharmaceutical plant

There are fears this morning for up to 350 jobs at a major US pharmaceutical company in Co Wicklow.

There is speculation that the Allergan plant in Arklow could be about to close after staff on the nightshift were told yesterday not to turn up for work this evening.

Dayshift workers have been asked to attend a meeting with management at the Arklow Bay Hotel at 8.30am.

The plant manufactures silicon breast implants.
