Bar manager's family held hostage in west Belfast

Police in the North are investigating an incident in west Belfast last night in which a bar manager and his family were held hostage at gunpoint in their home.

Two armed men barged their way into the house in Horn Drive and ordered the man's partner, their two teenage children and a one-year-old baby into an upstairs bedroom.

The man was then forced to go to the Laurel Glen Bar on the Stewartstown Road, collect cash and hand it over to another man in Glenvey Drive

He subsequently returned to his home and raised the alarm.

The family were not injured during the ordeal.
