Nationwide drug study launched
A major study on the widespread use of drugs in Ireland will be launched today.
Entitled 'Drug Use in Ireland', the report deals with prevalence rates for key illegal drugs, such as cannabis, ecstasy, cocaine and heroin, on a lifetime, last year, and last month basis.
The results of the survey, commissioned by the National Advisory Committee on Drugs (NACD), will be revealed by Minister of State with special responsibility for the National Drugs Strategy, Pat Carey.
The findings will also be presented by Dr Des Corrigan, Chairperson, NACD, and Mairead Lyons, Director, NACD.
