Gormley: Councils must clean up water supplies

Minister for the Environment John Gormley says local authorities need to "step up to the plate" and deal with Ireland's drinking water problems.

The latest figures from the Environmental Protection Agency show that more than one-third of private water supplies in Ireland are contaminated with the e-coli bacteria.
