A bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of a teenage girl and her mother, who have been charged over a public order disturbance at a Dublin halting site.

The girl (aged 17) and her mother who is in her forties, had been arrested on December 23 last, at Dunsink Lane, in Finglas, in Dublin.

The mother was charged with being intoxicated to such an extent that she was a danger to herself and others, contrary to section four of the Public Order Act.

She also, along with her daughter, faces a connected Public Order Act charge for engaging in threatening, abusive and insulting behaviour likely to cause a breach of the peace, the Dublin Children’s Court heard.

They made no reply when charged, said Garda Michael O’Hanlon, of Blanchardstown station.

Judge John Coughlan issued a bench warrant for both of them to be arrested when they failed to attend their court appearance earlier today.
