E-mails to be saved for three years under EU directive

The Justice Department is set to implement a controversial EU directive on e-mails and internet chat messages.

According to today's issue of The Irish Times, the new regulations will mean that all e-mails and other net messages sent and received by Irish residents will be retained for three years.
