Elderly woman dies in Co Tyrone road accident

A 71-year-old woman has died following a road accident in Co Tyrone last night.

The accident happened at Loughview Gardens in Coalisland at around 8.30pm.

The dead woman has been named as Miriam Holmes, a local resident.

Meanwhile, a 73-year-old man has died in hospital from injuries he sustained in a road accident in Belfast on Monday.

He has been named as Frederick Shields, from Bangor in Co Down.
