A jury of nine women and three men has been selected to hear the trial of a psychiatrist from Kilkenny charged with murdering her teenage daughter.

A jury of nine women and three men has been selected to hear the trial of a psychiatrist from Kilkenny charged with murdering her teenage daughter.

Lynn Gibbs (aged 46), a psychiatrist from Killure in Gowran, Co Kilkenny is charged that between 11pm on November 25, 2006 and 10am on November 26, 2006 at Killure, Gowran, she did murder her daughter Ciara Gibbs, 16.

Mrs Gibbs pleaded not guilty to the charge, when she appeared before Mr Justice Paul Carney in the Central Criminal Court at Dublin this morning.

The court heard the trail, will start tomorrow and turns on a single issue that will be determined by expert psychiatric evidence.

Mr Brendan Grehan SC for the Director of Public Prosecution said the case is expected to take between one, to one and a half days.

Mrs Gibbs is represented Mr Patrick Gageby SC.
