Scores attend meeting to discuss Paul Quinn campaign

Scores of people attended a public meeting in Co Monaghan last night to discuss the campaign to bring the killers of Paul Quinn to justice.

The 21-year-old south Armagh man was beaten to death in a paramilitary-style attack after he was lured to a remote farmhouse near Oram last October.

His family says the attack was orchestrated and carried out by members of the IRA because of a personal feud between Mr Quinn and a south Armagh republican.

Sinn Féin, however, has denied republican involvement and claims the killing arose from a feud between criminals over fuel-smuggling.

The Irish and British governments have said they believe Mr Quinn was not a criminal.

Gardaí used last night's meeting to renew their appeal for information about the murder and specifically about a white van which they believe was used by the gang.
