More than 25,000 motorists have reportedly received penalty points for using a mobile phone while driving since the offence was introduced 18 months ago.

More than 25,000 motorists have reportedly received penalty points for using a mobile phone while driving since the offence was introduced 18 months ago.

Reports this morning say figures from the Department of Transport show that driving while holding a phone is now the third most common offence, after speeding and failing to wear a seatbelt.
