Pedestrian killed in Dublin crash

A 40-year-old man died after being struck by a van, gardaí said today.

The man was walking along Blackwood Lane, Portmarnock, north Dublin yesterday evening at 7.15pm when the accident happened.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene and rushed to Beaumont Hospital where he later died.

The driver of the van was not injured and gardai are investigating the cause of the accident.
