Schoolchildren escape injury in Kildare bus crash

Around 30 children have escaped injury this morning after their school bus crashed near Leixlip in Co Kildare.

The bus was taking pupils to Mount Sackville when it skidded across a road and crashed into the Rye Bridge.

Nobody was injured in the incident, but extensive damage has been caused to the bridge, which had recently undergone upgrade works.
