Man in critical condition after Luas accident

Two separate investigations have been launched into an incident that has left a 20-year-old in a critical condition in Dublin's Beaumont Hospital.

The man was struck by a Luas tram travelling inbound on the Red Line between Tallaght and Connolly Station.

The incident happened between the Kingswood and Red Cow stops shortly before 8pm last night.

Veolia Transport, which operates the Luas, said it had launched an internal investigation.

Gardaí also confirmed they were investigating the incident.
