Accident causes major traffic disruption across Dublin

An accident in Dublin's docklands has caused major traffic disruption in the city this morning.

The East Wall Road has been completely blocked since a trailer overturned after becoming disconnected from a lorry at around 6am.

The AA says northern approaches to the city are worst affected, with delays affecting the Swords and Drumcondra Roads, the M1 into the Port Tunnel and North Wall Quay.

South of the Liffey, traffic is heavy on the East Link and Pearse Street, while delays are also affecting the M50 southbound.
