Post mortem results on the body of a man found dead yesterday in a Dublin apartment have found that he died as a result of multiple stab wounds.

Post mortem results on the body of a man found dead yesterday in a Dublin apartment have found that he died as a result of multiple stab wounds.

The investigation has now been upgraded to murder.

The deceased has not yet been formally identified.

A 24-year-old man arrested near the scene was detained at Sundrive Road Garda station under section 4 of The Criminal Justice Act but is now in St. James's Hospital receiving treatment.

Gardaí say he did not receive physical injuries.

The murder investigation is being conducted from Terenure Garda Station.
