Man arrested in Cork following ecstasy haul
Gardaí in Cork have arrested a man in his fifties after recovering €50,000 worth of ecstasy on the outskirts of the city.
Officers from the City Drugs Squad seized five thousand ecstasy tablets when they searched a field in the Old Mallow Road area at around 9.30pm last night.
It brings to €130,000 the value of drugs seized in the city in the past 24 hours.
€80,000 worth of cannabis was uncovered when two cars were stopped on the Blarney Road and on the Orchard Road.
Four men who are all in their twenties have been arrested in connection with the incident.
