PSNI hunt for man who dragged girl into car

A man who dragged a schoolgirl into a car was being hunted by police in the North tonight.

The teenager was walking through Lurgan in Co Armagh yesterday morning when a motorist pulled up beside her and asked for directions.

Police said the girl walked on but the man followed and dragged her into the vehicle.

She managed to escape and flee to safety.

The incident happened on the Killicomaine Road between 7am and 7.30am, said police.

The car was a distinctive orange, new model Ford Focus and detectives said they wanted to hear from anyone who had seen such a car in the area yesterday or previously.

The schoolgirl was uninjured but shaken by her ordeal.
