There has been no confirmation of the identity of the body as yet, but gardaí and local volunteers had been combing the area as part of their search for 21-year-old Dermot Molloy, who is believed to have entered the river in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The body has been recovered from the stretch of the river behind the Cusack Park GAA Grounds, and has been taken to the morgue at Ennis General Hospital where it's hoped a formal identification can be made.
