Gardaí question 23-year-old man in connection with Limerick death

A 23-year-old man is being questioned by gardaí in connection with the death of a mother of two at a Limerick hotel.

A 23-year-old man is being questioned by gardaí in connection with the death of a mother of two at a Limerick hotel.

The body of Sylvia Roche Kelly was found face down in a bath tub in a room at the Clarion Hotel in Limerick on Saturday morning.

Gardaí said the County Clare gallery owner was assaulted before she died.

Since her death gardaí have been anxious to speak to a Tipperary man who was seen leaving the hotel shortly before the body of the 33-year-old was discovered.

Yesterday evening a 23-year-old man was arrested in County Tipperary as part of the Garda investigation.

He is being questioned at Henry Street station in Limerick.

It comes as the funeral of Sylvia Roche Kelly is being held in her native County Clare this morning.

She will be buried after 11am mass at the Little Church in Sixmilebridge.
