Fairy lights cause family home to burn down

Members of a Tipperary family have escaped tragedy after their home was totally gutted by fire.

The blaze broke out last night at the Crescent Housing Estate in Cappawhite.

It is understood that the fire started when the Christmas fairy lights around the living room window ignited.

Thankfully the family were out of the house at the time of the incident.
