Tests to be carried out on body of Katy French

A post mortem exam and toxicology tests are due to be carried out today on the body of model Katy French, who died at Navan Hospital yesterday following her collapse over the weekend.

Gardaí are awaiting the results of the tests before deciding what route to pursue as part of their investigation into her death.

The 24-year-old fell ill at a friend's house in Co Meath in the early hours of Sunday morning, just days after hosting a glittering party to celebrate her birthday.

Her family says she passed away peacefully yesterday in the arms of her sister, Jill, with her mother and father by her side.

There has been much speculation about the cause of her illness, but nothing has been officially confirmed.

Gardaí are understood to have spoken to a number of her friends in an effort to establish what happened before she collapsed.
