Opposition launches renewed attack on Cowen’s budget
The opposition has launched a renewed attack on Minister for Finance Brian Cowen's budget in the Dáil today.
Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny said the minister had shown no courage or vision in his budget speech and said it would not inspire confidence.
Labour leader Eamon Gilmore, meanwhile, said the u-turn on stamp duty revealed how desperate the Government was for fresh ideas.
He said the budget was "an admission of economic incompetence".
