Ahern says Hynes made second request over casino

Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has revealed that the former chief executive of An Post made a second request to the Department of Finance in 1998 to enter talks on a planned casino for the Phoenix Park.

Bertie Ahern continues to reject claims that he gave approval to the National Lottery to enter talks with a Manchester businessman on the project when he was Minister for Finance.
