The 28-year-old Irish woman who drowned in Thailand last week is due to be laid to rest in her native Co Monaghan today.

The 28-year-old Irish woman who drowned in Thailand last week is due to be laid to rest in her native Co Monaghan today.

Linda Crossan, from Carrickmacross, drowned on a beach on the island of Ko Samui last Monday.

She was a nurse at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.

Ms Crossan will be laid to rest after noon Mass in St Joseph's Church in Carrickmacross.

She is survived by her father Patsy and four brothers.
