'Missing' Irishman charged with wasting police time
The Irish businessman who went missing in Paris for nearly two months has reportedly been charged by the French authorities with wasting police time.
Forty-seven-year-old John Kennelly disappeared while on a business trip with his family in early September.
He walked into a police station in Paris last week and reportedly told officers he had been kidnapped, drugged and raped.
However, reports this morning say the police have obtained CCTV footage showing that the Listowel travel agent was in Nice and a small town in northern France during the time he was missing.
In a statement yesterday, his family said he was suffering from a medical condition that resulted in actions uncharacteristic of him.
