Two still being questioned after Ballyfermot shooting

Gardaí are continuing to question two men following a shooting incident in north Dublin early this morning.

At around 4am, shots were fired through the window of a house in Cherry Orchard Parade in Ballyfermot.

Five people - including three children - were in the house at the time, but no one was injured.

Two officers who arrived at the scene were threatened at gunpoint.

A sawn-off automatic shotgun and cartridge were later recovered and two men were arrested.

They are being detained at Ballyfermot garda station where they can be questioned for up to 72 hours.
