Two arrested after Ballyfermot shooting
Two men have been arrested following a shooting incident in north Dublin, after which gardaí were also threatened at gunpoint.
Gardaí in Ballyfermot were called out this morning after several shots were fired at the window of a house at Cherry Orchard Parade.
Two adults and three children were inside the house, but no one was injured in the incident, which occurred shortly before 4am.
Uniformed gardaí arriving at the scene chased two men, but had to back away when they were threatened at gunpoint.
They later searched the area and recovered a sawn-off semi-automatic shotgun and one cartridge.
Two men were arrested and are being held at Ballyfermot garda station, where they can be detained for up to three days.
