Threats, murder used to suppress European media

A new report shows that jail, death threats and even murder are being used across Europe to suppress media freedom.

The study was carried out in 20 EU member states by the Association of European Journalists.

The group is holding its annual meeting in Dublin today where it will launch its report on the issue.

The study also maintains that political interference and restrictive laws are posing major barriers to freedom of the press.
