Gardaí in Dublin have released without charge a 28-year-old man they were questioning in connection with a double-murder in Walkinstown last month.

Brian Downes and Eddie Ward were shot dead on the Greenhills road on October 5.

The gunman escaped on a motorbike, which gardaí recovered in the Grand Canal near Bluebell on Friday.

A second man, also arrested yesterday, remains in Garda custody this morning and can be questioned for up to 72 hours.
