Petrol bomb thrown at gardaí

A petrol bomb was thrown at two gardaí who came under attack today by youths in Co Wicklow.

The officers were on mountain bike patrol in Fassaroe, Bray, when the device was hurled in their direction.

The petrol splashed up the trousers of one of the officers, but was quickly extinguished.

He escaped without injury.

“Three youths were subsequently arrested in relation to this incident, and are currently detained at Bray Garda Station under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act,” added a Garda spokesman.
