No action taken against landlords for sub-standard homes

A number of county councils failed to inspect more than a handful of privately rented homes. In some cases no inspections were carried out at all last year.

No county council brought legal action against a landlord, despite the fact that the 337 homes that were inspected had failed to meet the proper standards.
