Dublin dirtiest in survey of popular European cities

Dublin has been named as the dirtiest of 10 European cities in a new survey out today.

The Irish capital fares worst in the survey of popular urban tourist destinations by An Taisce and the Irish Business Against Litter organisation.

Much of the city centre itself was found to be quite clean, but some tourist areas like Christchurch, Croke Park and the streets around the Guinness Hop House were found to have serious litter problems.

IBAL is blaming the situation on a failure to enforcement litter laws and fines.
