Three arrested in connection with Swiss girl's murder

Two men and a woman have been arrested by police investigating the murder of a 17-year-old Swiss schoolgirl.

The three are from Galway, where Manuela Riedo was found strangled to death in scrubland near the city’s main railway station last week.

Investigating officers said the three were arrested as part of a planned operation.

“They are being detained at Galway and Gort Garda stations under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984,” a garda spokesman said.
