Man killed in Clare traffic accident
A man was killed today in a two-car collision in Co Clare.
Gardaí said the accident happened in Sandfield Road, Ennis, this morning.
A Garda spokesman said: "Gardaí from Ennis Garda station, Clare, are investigating a fatal road collision which happened this morning at Sandfield Road, Ennis.
"The male driver of a vehicle was fatally injured after his vehicle was in collision with another vehicle."
The deceased was aged 81 years old.
Meanwhile four people have been taken to hospital after a school bus was involved in a collision with a lorry and van in Clara, Co Offaly.
The road accident happened on Frederick Street outside the town at around 9am this morning.
The bus was carrying students from Tullamore to Moate Business College in Co Westmeath.
None of the four people being treated at Midland Regional Hospital in Tullamore are thought to have serious injuries.
In another incident today, a woman in her 60s died after she was involved in a car crash in Co Donegal.
The passenger was in a car that collided with another car at Claggan near Moville at 2.45pm.
Two men believed to be the drivers of the cars were taken to Letterkenny General Hospital.
Gardaí at Buncrana have launched an investigation.
