Rail workers to go ahead with strike action

Thousands of rail commuters in the south of the country will face disruption, as inspection and maintenance staff are preparing to carry out a one day stoppage in a dispute over work practices at Iarnrod Éireann.

Thousands of rail commuters in the south of the country will face disruption, as inspection and maintenance staff are preparing to carry out a one day stoppage in a dispute over work practices at Iarnród Éireann.

SIPTU and the NBRU have served strike notice, to take effect at midnight on Sunday, which will hit train services in Cork, Mallow, Tralee and Limerick.
