An unemployed househusband accused of IRA membership told gardaí he hadn't 'a clue' why an associate of his was carrying a large wad of cash near his home with his name on it, the Special Criminal Court heard today.

Joseph Clarke (aged 37), Forestwood Close, Santry Avenue, Dublin, denies membership of an unlawful organisation styling itself the Irish Republican Army, otherwise Oglaigh na hEireann, otherwise the IRA on January 9 this year.
