1,000 new members join Greens

The Green Party says it has signed up 1,000 new members during a recruitment drive over the past month.

The drive was carried out in universities and institutes of technology on both sides of the border.

The Greens say their new branch in Queen's University Belfast recruited more members than the Sinn Féin, DUP and Fianna Fáil branches.
