Gardaí investigate assault claim against Willie O’Dea

Gardaí are reportedly investigating an assault claim against Minister for Defence Willie O'Dea in relation to an alleged pub row.

Reports this morning say the incident happened several weeks before the Limerick TD's confrontation with Shannon Airport activists last weekend.

A man has reportedly made a written complaint to Gardaí claiming he was assaulted by Mr O'Dea in the Bank bar on October 22nd after approaching him and criticising government policy.

A spokesperson for the minister has confirmed that a confrontation took place, but says Mr O'Dea walked away and let bar staff deal with the situation.
