Lenihan and Conroy to discuss latest Dublin killings
Minister for Justice Brian Lenihan is to meet the Garda Commissioner this morning to discuss their response to the latest gangland murders in Dublin.
Two men were shot dead in the Clondalkin area of the city on Friday.
One of the victims - 40-year-old Brian Downes from Tallaght - was a known associate of criminal gangs.
The second victim was 24-year-old Eddie Ward, from Clondalkin, who used to work for Mr Downes.
Gardaí believe the shooting was well planned and carried out by an experienced gunman.
Mr Lenihan and Garda Commissioner Noel Conroy will discuss the garda response to the killings this morning, as well as plans to target smaller drug dealers as part of the fight against gang crime.
